Privacy policy

We are pleased you have visited our website and are interested in the services offered by Protection One AG. Since protecting your privacy is important to us, we strive to manage your data as securely as possible and process it carefully and in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. Below, we inform you of what data we collect while you visit our website, how the latter is used, and also inform you of your rights.

  1. What data is recorded and how is it used?

1.1       Reporting

When you visit our website, your browser sends technically-required data which is automatically stored in the log of our web server (server log). A hosting company in Switzerland manages the web server on our behalf:

  • browser identification;

  • date and time of the visit to our website;

  • IP address from which the website was accessed;

  • address of the website from which you arrived at our website, and

  • pages of our website which you visited

We exclusively use the server log to ensure the proper functioning of the web server (error detection, identification of abuse, defence against attempted attacks). Only the hosting company has access to this, and does not access it without specific reason. Server logs older than six months are automatically deleted.

1.2 Cookies

We use cookies to make it easier for you to use our website, to structure it according to your needs, and to improve our advertising. Cookies are small text files which your browser stores on your computer.

When you visit our website for the first time, a banner appears asking for your consent to the use of cookies. If you give your consent, we store cookies on your computer and the banner will not be displayed for the lifetime of the cookies. After the cookies’ expiry date, or if you delete them, the banner will reappear on your next visit to our website, requesting your consent again.

You have the option of configuring your web browser so that cookies are not stored. You can also delete cookies at any time via your internet browser. Deleting cookies may, however, restrict access to certain functions or reduce the usability of our website.

1.3 Evaluation tool

The cookies enable us to use Google Analytics, the web analysis service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States of America ("Google"). When you access our website, your browser transmits information about your use of this website (e.g., the referring URL, the pages you visit on our website, the internet browser you use, the language setting, the operating system you use, or your screen resolution) to a Google server in the United States of America. This information is stored and analysed there. We receive the result in anonymous form, and use it to improve our website and services, and as a basis for showing advertisements. We have activated the IP anonymisation function offered by Google so that Google only records your shortened IP address.

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing data at any time by either blocking cookies in your browser, or by downloading and installing the browser add-on provided by Google, at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

You can find more information about Google Analytics in the Google Analytics Terms of Service, in the Google Analytics Data Privacy and Security and in the Google Privacy Principles.

1.4 Use of external links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites with which we have no affiliation, and which in turn use cookies. In particular, we also offer links to social media networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube). After you have clicked on the link, we have no influence on the collection, storage, and processing of the data that have been directly, as the case may be, transmitted when you clicked on the third-party link, as the behaviour of third parties – by its very nature – is beyond our control. We assume no responsibility for the processing of such data by third parties. Please refer to the data protection information of the third party in question for information on the purpose and scope of the data collection, processing, and use of the data, as well as on the possibilities of setting parameters to protect your privacy:

1.5 Further processing of data

We give you the option of voluntarily providing us with data by e-mail or via a contact form, for example, so that we can contact you directly or send you further information, a newsletter, or advertising. You can also apply for vacancies on our online job portal. We ask you to provide only the data we need to provide our services.

In some cases, external access to select programmes may be granted to authorised employees, partners, or customers in the protected "Login" area. The prerequisite for access is that we have set up and activated said access. No additional personal data which goes beyond the scope of the internal use of these programmes is collected. Furthermore, we reserve the right to further use and store the data collected due to legal obligations, or by order of the authorities or a court.

2. Is your data secure?

The security of our computer systems and our hosting company corresponds with the current state of technology.

3. Is your data passed on to third parties?

In some cases, we may be obliged by law to pass on data to a state authority or to a court upon request. Apart from these cases, we do not pass on any data to third parties, unless you have explicitly given your consent to do so.

4. For what purposes do we collect and process your personal data?

We collect and process your personal data for one or more of the following purposes:

  • providing and selling our services and products;

  • performance of contracts;

  • provision of customer communications, administration and implementation of customer communications;

  • performance of tasks in the field of personnel management, and

  • analysis of customer behaviour, improvement of our offers and marketing.

5. What are your rights?

You have the right to request access at any time to the data we have stored about you, e.g., its origin, the recipients to whom it is transmitted, and the purpose of its storage. You also have the right to request that your data be corrected, deleted, or blocked.

If you have given your consent to the use of your data, you can withdraw it at any time. This leads to the deletion of your data unless there are legal reasons against it. In this case, we block your data so that it can only be used for the purposes required by law.

If you have any questions about the processing of your data, you can contact us in writing at the following address:
